
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - - January 19 2008) was an American film, theatre television, and voice actress. Pleshette began her theatre career and was in films by the late 1950s. Then, she became an actor of note in films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). From 1972 until 1978 Pleshette was a frequent guest in a variety of television shows. She also played Emily Hartley, which earned her numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 of 1937. Her parents were Jewish as were the descendants of emigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage director for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
