Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress who is best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She has an BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in the fields of theater, film and TV. She started acting on stage and then appeared in independent, mainstream as well as television shows. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just high praise but also received a host of nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995, she was the first to appear as Ariel on stage in The Tempest. On Broadway, she has appeared as a character in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Coming to her movie career she is most well-known for her role in movies like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. On television her regular role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her the praise of her fellow actors.
